Who Is The Pittsburgh Golf Hack
Just your average golfer!
My name is Garan Baisden, and I have been playing golf competitively and recreationally for over 25 years. Originally hailing from West Virginia, I moved to Pittsburgh in 2013 and fell in love instantly with the area and all it has to offer. Especially related to golf.

I'm not a pro by any stretch of the imagination. I'm currently sitting at a 13.5 handicap after dropping from a 16.5 two years ago, and continue to strive for single digits. However, as I continue to embark on my golf journey, I plan on sharing everything I learn along the way with Yinz!

How we got here
As average golfers we always seem to be chasing information. How can I improve my golf game, where are the best places to play, and how do I compare to the pro's? Very seldom do we as average golfers think about ourselves as being that resource to other golfers.

It wasn't until a couple of years ago on the golf course when I realized that I myself could have an impact on the game. I was paired up with a couple of young golfers who were absolutely horrific. After just a few holes I was ready to ask if I could play on without them. However, I noticed a couple minor things they were doing wrong, and I decided to ask if they would be open for some advice. They gladly accepted and after a grip change as well as changing their stance I had them playing respectable golf. They both broke 100 for the first time ever that day.

It was in that moment that I realized we all play a vital role in keeping this game we all love moving in the right direction. That's when I decided to create "The Pittsburgh Golf Hack" alias as a resource for all golfers.
